Making The Iconic Boyd.
It all begins with an idea.
In 2013 KFive teamed up with The Boyd Foundation to develop the acclaimed Architect Robin Boyd’s archived one-off furniture. KFive’s experience in the furniture and design industry alongside the foundations incredible designs and care of preservation, have enabled this collaboration to create something to honour the legacy of one of Australias greatest Architects.
From drawings to reality… How we created the Boyd Furniture Collection.

From the Walsh St residence of Boyd himself, his personally designed furniture sits pride of place. Both KFive and the Robin Boyd Foundation dreamt to make his one-off pieces available and visible all across Australia.

Collaborating with Graphic Designer Gary Emery and a joint venture manufacturer the drawings were created and the manufacturing commenced.

Boyd couches, Tables and chairs now reside in integral buildings like Melbourne University , Monash University, Australian Ballet & The Heide Museum. We continue to grow and expand the collection so everyone can enjoy a piece of Australian design history. A legacy continues to inspire a whole new generation.
